Please oh please let Palin be!!!!!!!

The greatest gift "conservatives" could give the country would be Palin for the Presidential Nominee for the GOP. I mean can you imagine Palin as the Nominee!!!!! and Beck as her running mate. Do the 'conservatives" really think they can get Palin elected? I am sure they think that Palin is the "real American" but have failed to realize she would be a disaster in the role. I mean come on with her quiting in Alaska makes her bid for the top office unattainable. If she cant finnish her elected post in the least populated state in the country, how in the hell do they expect her to hold the top office? I for one as a dem will conitinue to donate to the Palin campaign, simply for the fact well you get the idea.

When did Conservatives become a bunch of ..........

Hmm I guess all the fear mongering by the GOP has finally caught up with them. For Conservatives to be afraid of our own system has finally shown how fragile Conservatives actually are. I guess it means nothing to them, to see that when we actually dump our system and our freedoms, for fear of attacks by some "rogue" a** ho*** the terrorist have won.
I hear a lot of chatter about our founding fathers from conservatives but it seems they have forgotten a very important statement from Ben Franklin and maybe they should revisit his writings. For Conservatives to be crying about how dangerous it is to bring the 9/11 group here for trial here, is well a bunch of , as my six year old grandson would call it, a bunch of "cry babies". It becomes more and more apparent every day that the "conservatives" actually think that we as a country cant do crap! As a group that keeps screaming that they love America, seems they love America but hate Americans in the same breath. And can some one please explain to me when we went to war with Pakistan? I keep hearing that we picked them up from the "battle field" but we picked them up in Pakistan. So next time you have a Conservative complain about "Obama's Bow" ask them why they complain about this, at the same time their party leaders bow to the exact same terrorist that attacked us on 9/11 . Seems there is a pattern here when you think about it, Nixon bowing to the same emperor who attacked us at Pearl Harbour and the Conservatives wanting us to bow and give in to the terrorist.

Obama and the 'bow'...

I have been reading over the couple of days about Obama 'bowing' to Japan's emperor and the supposed 'outrage' it caused from the right. Sometimes it's hard to believe the stupidity of some people over such a simple gesture. Pictures and video of the bow are posted all over the place, as though the President did something wrong. As a long time Martial Artist I have bowed thousands of times to friends and opponents. I have done so in tournaments, amateur fights, training, or practice. And, if I may boast a little... I never lost. Well, once I did, it was a Kumete competition and I really didn't know the rules. I took 2nd place. Anyway, 'bowing' isn't showing weakness as the right has been proclaiming. Bowing to your opponent or friend is actually demonstrating strength. Bowing demonstrates honesty and trust. Not weakness. It is absurd to compare Dick Cheney's nonchalance of meeting the Japanese emperor to Obama's meeting. In some Asian cultures, not bowing is the sign of weakness and distrust.

Boy, the right will try and find anything to glare at, even a simple gesture of trust from our President.

How dumb can they be?

OK so here we go again. You have Prejean go on Larry King live and pouts when she does not like the questions asked. Another example of "conservatives" wanting softballs in interviews. Seems "conservatives who make their own messes, don't want it talked about, how dumb can you be to go on national TV and not expect to be asked hard questions. And of course another "conservative" playing victim. I thought "Conservatives" frowned on "victim hood"

Attn: you can Buyer this.

Another example of a corrupt "Conservative" this guy has no remorse and with any luck, Indiana will vote him out.

OK, what ever you say.

Did you see where Hannity was showing film of Becks rally and trying to pass it off as Bachmans rally. Seems he should have thought about the time of year and what time of year we are currently in lol. lets say Bachmans rally should of had fall colors in it and not summer colors.

How about Palins Book with five chapters lol that's right five chapters, Superman's last comic had more chapters than that! ( well not really, it only had three, but damn that did sound good lol) man those must be some long chapters lol I bet my grand daughters second grade reading book is better reading lol.

How a bout Colburn standing in front of the GI bill because he wants to know how were going to pay for it,he wants to know what were going to cut first before he signs on to it. Noble cause almost, but Colburn voted for two war supplemental and did not worry where the spending cuts were going to come from, and he helped Bush run up 1.7 trillion in war spending. so why now all concern mister Coburn.

Lou Dobbs quits CNN, wanna bet he is moving to FOX lol ,yea he will bring "credit" to fox noise lOl.

Shame on our country

I know I know some right wing hack is going to see this title and say "see I knew progressives hated our country" with out actually even asking why I put this on here. Well as the Grandson of a world war two vet, and the son of a Vietnam vet and the step dad of an army ranger who has already served a tour in Iraq and is getting prepared to go to Afghanistan. The way I see us as a country treating our vets just flat out disgust me. Call me a socialist if you will but to me any soldier who goes to war for our country and is wounded should never ever have to worry about any thing in their life again. I'm not saying to make the person wealthy but the soldier should never have to sit in wheel chair and sell flags to try to make a living, how sad is that for our society. A wounded soldier should never have to worry about a roof over his head or for his family if they can no longer provide it, never have to worry about food, or health care for their family. When we as a nation turn our backs on our vets, and especially wounded vets, physical or mental, we should be ashamed off our selves for letting this happen. When we let the people who have defended our freedoms and have done what the average person in this country wont do, then these people need to be taken care off. If it is the GI Bill to go to school, or buy home we a nation should demand they are taken care of. 4000 vets a year die due to the lack of health care, shame on us, hundreds of thousands of vets are homeless, shame on us, millions of vets go through life mentally scared, shame on us. How can we as nation take compassion on anyone if we do not take compassion on the AMERICAN VETERAN.

Call Tom Coburns office and tell him to vote for our hero's, the American Soldier.

Thanks Grandpo, Thanks Pop, Thanks Christopher for doing what most of us are afraid of doing, you guys are the best America has to offer.

Health Care is What?

ON Friday I was talking to a friend, and the discussion turned to health care.
MY Friend was telling me that he felt that the public option was bad for business and was completely against it. In fact I do believe at one point he even called it "socialized" medicine. Normally I would leave it there but here is where the twist is in this. My friend who is a "Conservative" and a republican, who is against entitlements is actually using the entitlement programs he is so much against. He is making slightly above minimum wage and has no health insurance provided to him by his job, so he is, here it comes, on Medicaid and Medicare. The last time I checked, these were government programs. I also have a good idea that his Grand parents who are also "Conservatives" are on Medicaid and Medicare as well. So here is the question, why do we have "Conservatives" who are screaming against any health care for the average Joe, using the same programs they are so against. Im my mind I think we should start calling them out on this, and demand they get off of any government programs they are on. I find this to be the hypocrisy of the whole frigging "Conservative" party. I mean wouldn't it be great if we could by party affiliation, start knocking people off of government programs, if your a Republican conservative, you get no help for the government in any form ,except for use of the commons and then we force these people to live their ideology. I simple way of ding things, but will never happen, because the same people who are complianing, would find something else to complain about.

Fox News are you serious?

So tell me, how serious can we actually take Fox News any more? I mean with Obama calling them out and News papers calling them out how much more can we actually say they are a "News Organization". Sesame Street, yup that is right, Sesame Street making fun of the fact that they are trash TV, and this past Saturday on SNL, you have the first skit of the night showing just how ridiculous this "News Organization" is. It was quite comical over the weekend, but also a little disturbing. Today on Monday the 10 of November I am sure we are going to be hearing the Right talk shows screaming over this past weekends events. And of course it will be the "liberal" medias and Obama's fault. And the Conservatives will begin to play what they say they hate, the victim. This is all we have heard from them in a while, in fact they have even gone to the point of demanding Apology's from Talk show host and Dems in congress. Seems to me , that the "Conservatives" have become pretty thinned skinned, but I guess with the realization that their ideology and way of thinking has completely failed may have something to do with that.

The "Liberal Media"

Alrighty then, I don't know about you, but from "conservatives" I always hear them cry about the "Liberal Media". Seems this "Liberal Media" is anti "conservative" and never reports on the good things about the "conservatives". The "Conservatives" have used the "Liberal Media" as its whipping post since Nixon, and we all know why Nixon hated the media now don't we, Wink Wink Nudge Nudge. Any ways, so I always hear the complaining coming from the right and never understood why they complained, well, well since the "Liberal Media" is actually owned by the very groups they love, Corporate America. To hear Limbaugh complain about the "Liberal Media" is one of the strangest things, simply because he is on Clear Channel and Clear Channel owns most of the NBC outlets LOL and you know how Fox News and "conservatives" feel about NBC, go figure? So we have this "Liberal Media" and the funniest thing is, after Tuesday's elections, you wouldn't think so. Did you notice that all the hoopla is about two races. One in New Jersey and one in Virginia, well Republicans won both of these races. The "Liberal Media" has decided to run with it, saying that the Obama Admin is in trouble and the Dems are in trouble for the 2010 elections yadda yadda yadda. But if you noticed, as I did, the "Liberal Media" is not reporting on the other nine races that happened, and they definitely are not reporting about the two house seats in congress that were lost by the Republican party. Republicans lost two house seats in Republican strong holds, in fact one of the seats in northern New York, in the 23 District, has been held by the GOP for the past 150 years. The party to hold the seat prior to the Republicans were the Whigs, now that is a story. So next time you here a "conservative" cry about the "Liberal Media" Please explain to them that in REALITY, the "Liberal Media" is actually the "Ratings based media".

The Race in New York

Off all the races this past Nov 3rd, the most important to me was the New York race in the 23rd district. Virginia an important race but not as important as the media and especially Fox News, will make it to be. Virginia is already a heavily
"conservative" state, and with a majority of older folks voting, it falls to "conservatives" hands, but how long has Virgina been a "conservative" state? As for New Jersey, if the "conservatives " could not have beat Corizine, that would have said a lot more about the "conservatives" than Democrats, since Corizine was a very unpopular Governor, and in reality Christy should have won by more than the four points he won by. But of the races to watch, New York's 23 district was the one, we watched the "conservatives" come in and sanction Hoffman because the GOP candidate was to "liberal" in the view of the "conservatives". This was the race Palin, Pawlenty, Thompson, Beck and Limbaugh were all betting on, and were wanting to prove that the "conservatives" are the Republican party. To see them handed a defeat, with a seat that has been in Republicans hands for over a 150 years says a lot. This was a safe Republican seat, and never should have been lost, but when you listen to the extreme, these type of thing tend to happen. If this is the way we are going to see the "conservatives" run the party, will there be a Republican party left when they are done. So here is my question to Ronald Reagan's Republican party, when are you going to take your party back?

Update: Election Results for Nov 3rd 2009
Democrats win 8 seats
Republicans win 2 seats
Independents win 1 seat

As the GOP celebrate over the two seats, they fail to see the significance of the "Palin factor"

Sometimes the media folks....

Well, I'm not going to type too much tonight. I don't feel I have to. I'm just going to copy and paste a few things that I read and answered on a media site that I frequent: tvspy.com Some of the comments are just plain silly, as you'll see below (most are from an anonymous poster)......

"You do not understand the first amendment.. you are in the tank for Obama.. you are not objective and you are hypocrities."
Oh, and with this statement we can see that this person is 'totally' objective.

"You Obama sheep are so "in the tank" for Barrack.. you are journalists.. you are facists. Your opinion is right.. any opposing opinions are wrong and must be silenced.. that's called Facisim.."
It would be more convincing if this so-called journalist could actually spell.

Here is another...
"Secondly.. you are wrong. I do the know the difference between opinion and news."
Read on...

And then the hypocrisy...
"What you absolute MORONS don't get is.. when it comes to political issues.. it doesn't have to be correct.. it doesn't have to be fair"
"We are supposed to allow all opinions!! WHETHER YOU LIKE THEM OR NOT! "

One of my responses...
"most importantly, opinion is not news. That's what you can't get through your thick skull. Most of the people here have agreed that free speech is important. But, to intertwine opinion and actual news is not correct."

His answer...
"WTF is the point of your post? that news and opinion should be seperated?"

Mine...
"Uh, yeah."

Remember the post stated above? "I do the know the difference between opinion and news"

Wow. What a conversation. This person or persons has no idea what he or she is talking about. It's quite embarrassing for hard working and honest journalists around the world. No wonder the White House wanted to ban FOX 'News'.

Carry on.

Voting against you own best intrest.

I for one will never understand why any one in the middle class would vote for a "Conservative" and why any one in the middle class or lower middle class would defend the likes of Hannity, Beck or Limbaugh. With the current debate on health care happening right now, your hearing from the right that they want things to stay just the way they are and not do anything about health care. Now what baffles me is middle class Republicans saying the same thing, I guess they don't realize that with health care reform and getting the cost under control would actually benefit them not only in their pocket books, but on the bottom line of the companies they own or work for. Health care as we know it is not only crippling our economy and our growth but it is stifling business as well all due to the cost of health care. Getting back to Hannity, Beck and Limbaugh, you have these guys crying about "spreading the wealth" and you have lower middle class and middle class republican repeating this. I guess they didn't pay attention and haven't paid attention that their taxes have not moved, but only the top 5% taxes are going to change back to the Clinton tax cuts, that are still lower than the Reagan tax cuts. You actually have Hannity, Beck and Limbaugh all of who make millions a year getting people who make 30,000 a year and less crying about spreading the wealth lol, and wanting to make sure that these ultra rich guys get to keep paying less in taxes than they do. The middle class worker usually pays around 38% in taxes, where the top 5% are paying 31 to 33% and if your wealthy and make your money sitting around a pool all afternoon while you make millions more on dividends your only paying 18% Yup that's right the more money you make the less you have to pay in taxes, and just pass it down to the middle class to pay. so here is a question for you lower middle class and middle class voters, why are you voting against your own best interest?

Are we watching the GOP implode

Wow seems the 'conservatives' really do want the moderates out of the GOP. With Dierdre Scozzafava, backing out of the race in northern New York. seems the Conservatives may just get their wish. But will this help the GOP or hurt them? I say it will hurt them. Seems the conservatives think they will actually be able to increase their numbers by being "more conservative" With this type of thinking and the total disregard for the actual elected officials in their own party calling for more moderates, seems the "Conservatives" are hell bent in destroying the GOP. With out the moderates the "Conservatives" are an even smaller party. I guess with the discontent in Washington right now "conservatives are thinking they can actually take back the house and senate, but with more and more people abandoning the GOP and going Independent, this could be the nail of death for the GOP. The Conservatives seem to think that they are the Country and have failed to realize that President Obama was elected overwhelmingly by the country. I guess it broke their brains to see a Dem not only win the election but by a large margin, even larger than Reagan's win over carter in 1980. The conservatives seem to think they can win both houses back with the fly over part of the country and win elections with out the north east or west coast, but that is literally impossible, a majority of the country live in these areas and they will have to be won to take not only congress but the white house as well. The Conservatives in my view will more than likely become a regional party, having a strong hold in the south, but not really any where else for a while. The conservatives will have to learn the hard way that in order to be the party in power, you have to be inclusive in your party, if you make your party one type of thinking and only one type your party is doomed to fail.

H1N1, hmmm.. ever thought of this?

So, I've been following the H1N1 issue and all the problems they are having getting the vaccine to the masses. Many are up in arms because the vaccine isn't being made fast enough or distributed quickly enough, even conservatives. When the cure does arrive to a particular part of the country, everyone lines up for a shot. Conservatives, liberals, anglo, hispanic, black, chrisitian, muslim.... The list goes on and on. But, wait a sec. If the government is making sure that a cure for a pandemic is being provide for EVERYBODY (wait for it).... Wouldn't that be considered National Health Care? Think about the hypocrisy of the 'conservative' right. They get their panties in a wad over an OPTION that is being proposed, yet they curse the government when a vaccine isn't readily available.

Ever thought of that?

The Sarah Palin Factor

In northern New York, Sarah Palin and the "Conservatives" what ever that means, are running against the GOP? you read that right, Sarah Palin and the "conservatives" are running against the GOP and have started their own party!!!! The party right now consist of Thompson, Santorium, Pawlenty, Palin to name but a few.
Seems they want to use the northern New York race to make a national statement and teach the GOP a lesson. Well they just may get their wish. This Northern New York seat has been held by a Republican for decades, in fact this is one of those "safe" republican seats. What the "Conservatives" have not figured out yet, is that they will probably SPLIT THE REPUBLICAN VOTE! Now for me that is all good, since I would love to see a Democrat walk into that "safe" seat if even for one term, because of the division of the GOP. I mean for the "Conservatives" to give a "safe" seat to the dems, would be a beautiful thing and would probably add to the death stumble of the conservative movement as we know it today.

Is there Really such a thing as a Republican Fiscal conservative?

This is a question I have pondered for a while. I keep hearing the term "Fiscal Conservative" but do they really exist? Or are they more like Sasquatch and nothing more than a myth. I know I know, they all praise Reagan as being the "conservative god" but he really wasn't a "Fiscal Conservative" not even close. With some basic elementary school research, you will find that Reagan actually was the first to leave a large deficit. With military spending and the asinine "Star wars program" that sunk billions into the pockets of the war machine. He literally left the largest deficit of all President's combined before him, including FDR with his programs. One thing Reagan did figure out and "fiscal conservatives" will try to deny, is that you have to have taxes to run the government, so simple a five year old could figure it out.
In fact Reagan had eleven tax increases, that is right eleven of them, he had to balance the books. Your constantly hearing from the right wing that, "Democrats want large government", and "Democrats are the tax and spend party". But didn't Bush and the "Fiscal Conservatives" in congress get us into the current fix we are in. With cutting taxes on the top 2% in a time of war, well that was down right stupid and a huge mistake. If you look at it like this, Bush cut taxes to the tune of about 1.3 trillion from our treasury to give to the top 2% while at the same time took us to war in Iraq and Afghanistan to the tune of another 1.7 trillion dollars. That is 3 trillion dollars in debt, so tell me, what in the hell is so "Fiscal Conservative" about that?
I know I know young padawan, Bush was "Not" a Conservative. But explain to me why, for the past eight years and especially the last four years of his presidency you said nothing? Nothing at all and in fact you supported him in his escapades with the deficit and declared we "had to do it for our safety", when it comes to big government I view it as what it is.

Democrats want large government to help the people of the United States.
Republicans want large government to wage war.

Any way you look at it, we as a nation want large government.
Some want it to help create a better life for all.
Some want it for the procurement of death.
So tell me what side do you fall on?

The reason Evan Bayh is against the public option

When are we as a Democratic party and as a nation in general going to stop electing these guys. With the simplest of research it is easy to find why Evan Bayh is against a public option in Health Care, his wife is being paid very well to keep the public option out of the current bill. Seems our country is no longer "we the people" but "we the insurance companies". With Lieberman and Bayh both having ties, wedding ties to the insurance companies I feel it is time that we as a nation and as a Democratic party make sure these type of politicians do not get elected any more. For Bayh and Lieberman to vote against the will of their states and its constituents, is well having a large set, may be a dumb set but a very LARGE SET! Lieberman's state of Connecticut, is in fact in favor of a public option by a large majority of 71%, and to come out now and say your going to "filibuster" with the republicans? what in the hell is that!!! This will be the first time in history that some one in a caucus will filibuster that same caucus, I say boot him. As for Bayh, he is another one that is showing his only vested interest in the senate is his own pocket book. He does not give a damn about his constituents and with any luck, in the next election, we will see his removal. If your going to vote like a republican mister blue dog guy, then we should have a real republican in that seat Senator Bayh.

Fired for GOD Pin

OK Social "conservatives" let the howling begin. In West Palm Beach, Trevor Keezor was released from his job for wearing a "one nation under GOD" pin on his uniform. Now where the howling will be coming from is the right and the right will want to "boycott" Home Depot and will want Home Depot closed, due to the "religious persecution" they will perceive as happening here. You would think that "free market conservatives" would be coming down on the side of Home Depot, but I predict in stead they will abandon their "Free Market" principles and jump for the Religious Rights idea on how this country should be run. One pattern I am starting to see with "Conservatives" is the lack of actually standing by what you supposedly believe in and preach. You will hear "free market conservatives" say "let the markets sort it out, but once something like this happens, trends in the Conservative party will show they will want to start legislation to protect this person, even if it is in a private business. I find the ironic part of this story to be that Home Depot is based in Atlanta Georgia, the Conservative south, lets watch and see how Fox news and the social conservative,s handle this one.

Joe Lieberman, His loyalties are where?

OK enough with Joe "the back stabbing bast***" Lieberman, when are we as a Democratic party gonna boot this guy. I mean come on in the last election he supported McCain, and actually had the balls to call President Obama a "Muslim", He slammed Obama during the entire election like he was in a professional wrestling match. After the election Obama being the bigger man talked with the back stabber and talked Reid and the dems into letting Lieberman keep his seat as the Chairman of Home land security. If you want my two cents and I m sure you don't if your conservative, I say boot the guy, if he wants to be a republican strip him of his committee seat and make him caucus with he republican party, and in his next election bid make sure his constituents know he voted for the Insurance companies and not his states best interest. Good riddance and get rid of the bast***. He is going to filibuster with the GOP because of one simple reason, his wife Haddassah is a lobbyist for the Pharmaceutical/ Health care provider GlaxoSmithKline. Have any wonder to where his loyalties lie? It definitely is not with the people of Connecticut.

Obama Video Challenge

Rec an email from Obama camp today, they are having a health reform video challnge, here is a sample and click on the title to take you to the site. Enjoy

http://my.barackobama.com/page/content/hrvcvideos/

The Opt Out

In the health care debate , we are finally seeing some progress, but what about letting states "Opt out". When I first heard this I was a little unsure but after some thought, It may not be such a bad idea for democrats after all and here is why I say this. Imagine we get a Health care bill and every one for the first year has access to the Government Medical Insurance Program, then after a year Republican strong holds, Conservative state run Governments decide they want out of the "government program" and opt out. Well here is where it could become a good thing for the democrats. The red states would go back to the option we have now inflated prices with no real control on prices, and you would see the poor and the self employed either uninsured again or with minimal coverage at an extreme price. Then you have a state next door with the public option and the people of that state paying 1/2 if not less that the red state. From this point the republicans in control of the state would then have to explain to their constituents why they are paying inflated health care prices when the state next door has better, cheaper, health care. I think from this point you would see more republicans voted out of office and in the states where the local government opted out the big local issues would be health care and opting in. This may be another place where Republicans shoot them selves in the foot.

How do we pay for it?

Seems Republicans are so worried about the deficit we leave to our grand children, you hear them beat that drum over and over again. But when it comes to war and the war machine, why are they the exact opposite? I have not been able to figure this out, Are they really the war mongers, or are they really "chicken hawks", I cant say but I do know for a fact that when it comes to deficit spending they want none of it. No help for children, the elderly, the sick, the poor.

So if Republicans who want to cut "entitlement" spending, to save our grand children from all this deficit burden, why do they so easily turn around and want to spend trillions in a war effort. I have a step son in the military, Army ranger and he has served in Iraq, and this was a pretty scary time for his mother and I, we did a lot of praying for those fifteen months, and he luckly came home safe. He is from what we are told going to be deployed into Afghanistan, and with this knowledge, I have to say give Obama his time to think this over.

Maybe if the last admin would have done this, we never would have gone in to Iraq and we might possibly be out of Afghanistan by now, but this we will never know and today we have what we have. So I say mister President please make sure, if you are going to be sending our soldiers in to harms way, make sure it is for a real purpose, a real mission, don't send them into fight for an "ideology" or nation building. From a Step parent of an Army Ranger please before you put my family member in harms way, make sure you know, he knows and we as a nation know why he is going in. Any ways back to how are we going to pay for it. So when this deficit spending comes up, ask your local "Conservative" how they intend to not leave the rest of this war spending to our Grand children. Because the last President has already left 1.3 trillion from the last eight years. So, mister fiscal conservatives, how do you intend to pay for the continued war in Iraq and Afghanistan.
This is a great video put together by media matters, and shows the truth behind Fox noise. Lets face it, Fox News wants to call it self a "news" organization, but once they actually took up the mantra of being the 24 hour anti Obama TV station and nothing more, they stopped being news and became a political adversary.

Census Count

Here is a funny one for you, we hear Michelle Bachman yelling for "Conservatives" to "not participate" in the up coming census. Does this Kook realize if "Conservatives" do not participate in the census, they could find themselves in Democratic strong holds. Wouldn't that be ironic, that the one tool Delay used to remake Texas a Republican strong hold, would actually hurt the GOP. And how much do you wanna bet that the "Conservatives" that do not participate in the census from that point on will then blame President Obama, as they blame him for everything else. What happened to the GOP mantra "self responsibility" well I guess that only counts for those of use who are not Republicans.

Welcome

Welcome to Woody's Corner, here we will talk about politics and post real articles for my Friends that are hopelessly lost and think Fox news and the Drudge Report are reporting the whole story. Once again Welcome and we will begin shortly.

By the way I will only be posting links for news, unlike Fox I do not declare my self to be a news source, I will only be posting links to news sources I feel, show the truth in politics, and well some may be biased but I am A Progressive.
